Week 14 Discussion

Nate Davies Jimmy Xu Business 260 - Marketing April 26th, 2018 Week 14 Discussion: Supply Chain Management 1. http://submarine-cable-map-2013.telegeography.com/ I choose a topic I was thrilled to learn about when I was studying electronics. Until I was deep into youtube videos one day I never realized that my ability to search the internet came more from underwater fiber optic cables and not satellite frequencies because our wifi access for phones and wireless devices are transmitted but all of these transmitters are in some way hard wired across the ocean. These cables are owned by various companies but all cross to main ports in all continents then go topical. Transatlantic cables are are the biggest player which is fitting because it is the main line for communication between Europe and the United States who are the biggest actors. 2. https://www.mckinsey.com/business-functions/organization/our-insights/organizing-for-an-emerging-world The key to asses...
Nate Davies Jimmy Xu Business 260 - Marketing April 26th, 2018 Week 14: Landing Pages & Adobe Spark Part A URL:  https://spark.adobe.com/gallery/gallery-editors-choice/example/journey/      This page truly told a story. This format is perfect for someone who wants to chronologically explain a trip or process. This is why this landing page has such a broad application. It is hard to critique this page because it is very in-depth and  demonstrates how great of a tool adobe spark has and will become. The "call to action" for this page is sharing a this woman's journey with those who are travelers  or with aspiring adventurers. I also think this page is made to inspire others to travel as well as be insightful for using sitting in our comfy desk chairs and warm homes. After experiencing this person trip it makes you want to get lost even if you get a little anxious thinking about what they went through and realize how blessed we are in Americ...
Nate Davies   Jimmy Xu   Business 260 - Marketing   April 19th, 2018 Which pricing strategies does Airbnb use? I  would say they use a combination of strategies being primarily economy and premium. This is because they recognize some homes are lower quality and cost less and their are high-end homes worth much more money. s 2.       Does the number of reviews matter for an Airbnb host? The number of reviews places a significant role in people propensity to pay for the rental as does the type of photo one uses to advertise the listing. 3.       The article mentioned the various attributes affecting an Airbnb rental list. Which attribute matters the most? Why? The most important were reviews because people trust others who have shared experiences. The second is the picture you use to illustrate how "cozy" the room or home may be. The next is the time of the year. The example is the need for...

Nate Davies Jimmy Xu Business 260 - Marketing April 11th, 2018 Week 12 Chapter 12 Discussion: Product Life Cycle Observation: Top Graph Set - Playstation       I have not played video games in over ten years, however, when I say the Play Station 2 listed as a technology it gave me a sense of nostalgia. I was surprised to learn the release dates and units sold of the gaming systems. The Sony console's have a new release every six to seven years. This s the product life cycle of gaming consoles. The consoles have a useful life of ten to eleven years. Sony has done a great job pin point the soon decline in the latest console and unveiling a newer model. With this knowledge in hand, it is easy to comprehend by the next expected release for the PS5 is in 2020. Bottom Graph Set - Social Media       There are not as many clear patterns in social media. I was surprised to learn that the three companies chosen which include Myspace, Fa...
Nate Davies Jimmy Xu Business 260 - Marketing April 4th, 2018 Week 11 - Case Study: Petco.com Q1) A customer-centric company builds long-lasting relationships by focusing on what satisfies and retains valuable customers. Discuss how Petco follows this customer-centric philosophy. They have done this by encouraging customers to share their opinions. This is ingenious as well because it build brand without spending an excessive amount of money. Q2) Go to Petco.com and read some of the customer reviews for various types of products. Do the one- and two-paw ratings tend to outnumber those with four and five paws, or the other way around? Can you find a customer review that Petco could use to market a product in a company circular or email ad? First of all, I accidentally typed in "Pet.com" and pet smart bought the rights to make you go to petsmart.com instead which I think is a smart move. There are far more five star reviews than one star reviews. There is a f...
